Systems Engineering opportunity available within Exostar's Systems Architecture Team!

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Systems Engineer to be responsible for the technical operation of systems comprising Exostar's major product lines within a world-class, fast-paced, highly secure environment supporting the Aerospace and Defense Industry. Our ideal candidate will be a technical, self-motivated individual, with solid detail-oriented and results driven strengths, coupled with excellent communication skills (both written and oral), who can be counted on to be trustworthy, exhibiting a high degree of corporate maturity, and is absolutely committed to production uptime and data integrity while requiring very little oversight.

The selected Individual can expect to be responsible for the planning, architecture, installation, integration, maintenance, troubleshooting and operations of various custom Exostar application technologies, as well as customized deployments of various third-party applications, coupled with involvement in building and fully operating test and production environments, and coordinating hosting facility activities with hosting provider engineering staff.

Additional responsibilities of this highly visible role also encompass:

** Maintenance of, and response to, monitoring for key processes/systems, with on-call duty 24/7 via rotating pager.
** Code promotion during scheduled maintenance windows, on a rotating basis.
** Participation in engineering reviews of code promotion requests.
** Tier 3 customer support for issues/requests.

The background we require for this role will include a completed Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant technical experience including strong UNIX/Linux and/or Windows Administration skills coupled with strong application troubleshooting skills. Solid knowledge of hardware including servers, network gear, and storage solutions is key, as is experience operating relevant complex e-business systems or large scale enterprise systems with operations and architecture experience, including high-availability architecture experience. Demonstrated and proven project leadership skills will be necessary, as will strong self-motivation skills and the ability to offer solid analytical and communication skills while thriving in a fast-paced environment.


Additional technical requirements should include at least 3-4 of the following skills:

** Exposure to exchange-related standards/technologies, such as SOAP or XML.
** Active Directory experience.
** PKI experience.
** Operational scripting skills
** Networking skills.
** Database administration exposure.
** Disaster recovery exposure.
** Performance engineering experience.
** Development exposure.
** Storage engineering exposure.
** Hosting facility experience.
** Certification such as CISSP, MCSE or ITIL.
** VMware experience.
