Under general supervision, demonstrates a thorough understanding of the activities performed related to BI&A support, implementation, optimization and/or operations of analytics technologies. Plans at an business level designing and developing technology solutions interfacing with appropriate customers, management and technical resources. Facilitates and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of large, complex technology solutions supporting one or more business and/or technology areas. Develops and implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware, technologies and tools. Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities.

Technical Acumen
Deep subject matter expertise (design, implementation, optimization, support) and related experience with any of the following:
  • Analytics Platforms
  • SAS
  • RMS, R and/or Salford would be highly desirable

Primary Responsibilities
  • Evaluates systems specifications regarding customer requirements, transforming ecifications into cost-effective, technically correct solutions. Prioritizes work and manages projects within established budget objectives and customer priorities.
  • Responsible for establishing and managing to established quality control and security protocols.
  • Provides the division, department and business area management with timely and accurate information regarding the status and performance of the assigned project(s).
  • Leverages technology to develop, redesign and/or implement optimal technology solutions.
  • Builds, leverages, and maintains effective alliances across technical and business community. Interacts with customers to achieve efficient, effective results.
  • Multi-tasks, prioritizes according to business priorities and production availability requirements. Other duties as assigned.

Has thorough understanding of project staff roles, abilities and provides input to assess performance and development needs.

Optimizes the use of all available resources.
  • Responsibilities are assigned with latitude for setting priorities and decision making in accordance with business client priorities.
  • Results are reviewed with next level manager for clarification and direction before proceeding.
  • Maintains effective partnerships across the department, and with business customers, and is able to provide management with substantive input and influence peers and project staff through an inclusive style and recognition of abilities and knowledge Planning and Project Management. Identifies those project tasks that are most important and maintains a clear sense of priorities and the larger picture. Anticipates and effectively responds to changes in workload and resource. Works with management to provide input to the planning process.
  • Understands and has input to the budget process and is responsible for expense control of assigned projects. Demonstrates sound cost-effectiveness. Failure to achieve objectives can result in delays or inefficiencies resulting in readjustment of resources and/or staff. Is responsible for information of importance and whose disclosure could harm the overall financial position of the company.
  • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills by displaying an understanding of the needs and perspective of others. Able to balance the workload of team members and work effectively with individuals of varying abilities. Able to identify the talents of others and match them to the tasks that will best suit the project goals and/or provide growth for the individual. Responsible for the accurate and timely input assessing the skills and contributions of assigned project staff.

Education/Experience
  • Typically has a minimum of 5+ years of hands on experience in information technology infrastructure, with strong aptitude with: software/solution development/delivery, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Big Data, Information Delivery, High Performance Computing, and/or Databases.
  • Have a deep understanding of capabilities and the direction of technology and applications, coupled with an in-depth knowledge of the technology required and the needs of business environment necessary to support assigned application/function and/or projects.
  • Educated to BA, BS degree and/or level higher.

Business Acumen
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of multiple business units being supported. Establish effective working relationships and work with technology leaders to help identify issues, provide solutions and establish priorities. Ability to influence technology solutions that affect the business. Contribute to the creation of an atmosphere where business partner issues are dealt with professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Able to understand a 3 year Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and Return on Investment (ROI) model for Cost Benefit Analysis CBA).
  • Have the ability to interact and communicate both written and verbally with the Business Head and their Senior Management team. Have capacity to communicate with both the Business and the Technology groups to effectively facilitate issues and requirements
  • Strong written skills are required in the documentation of policies, procedures and standards as they apply to security. You must be able to help motivate team members and project owners to successful completion of required projects.
  • Ability to create metrics, presentations and other documents as needed.
  • Have the ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities through the effective use of time management and organizational techniques. Have strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to work well with seasoned and inexperienced team members.
  • Must be flexible and be able to manage several projects simultaneously. Must be able to work through cross-departmental situations, track performance, communicate expectations, anticipate and recognize problems and, when appropriate, escalate appropriately.
