Sr Administrator, System Microsoft (Availability Tooling)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Display strong inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills
-Display strong IT project management skills
- Be self-motivated and able to meet objectives with little or no direct supervision
-Look at bigger picture while designing and integrating architecture
-Understand and apply advanced system/application administration, management and performance tuning techniques.
-Direct resources in support of project and operational activities.
-Provide 24 x 7 on call support as part of a scheduled rotation with other team members.
-Participate in design and project reviews, define standards, recommend and establish policies and procedures.
-Create, maintain and update EM documentation. This includes process & process docs, runbooks etc.
-Assist with day-to-day operation support, performance tuning, disaster recovery and patch/release management of Enterprise System Monitoring tools.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
-Attend staff meetings and or other meetings as required.
-Interact with vendors as required
-Provide progress reports to direct line of management.
-Provide advanced troubleshooting for applications and systems, determining cause and effect.
-Provide team mentoring to fellow specialists, system programmers and others.
-Evaluate hardware and software requirements and be able to justify purchase decisions.
-Demonstrated strong leadership, mentoring, and training ability
Functional/Technical Skills - Must Have:
-5 years MS Windows server operating systems experience
-5 years windows or Unix server operating systems experience
-5 years of experience enterprise monitoring tools, preferably a multi-datacenter environment
-5 years practical experience with BSM/BAC, Tealeaf, Wily
-5 years Windows VBScript experience or 5 Years Shell/Perl Scripting
-2 years writing custom SQL queries against MS SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
-Experience with JVM performance monitoring & tuning
Functional/Technical Skills - Preferred:
-ITIL Functions and processes
-Writing Oracle queries
-Visual Basic scripting
-Active Server Pages
-HP Vugen scripting
-Bachelors degree preferred,
Familiar with the following Operating Systems:
-Win2k3 and above server OS
Experience with the following (Primary):
-HP BSM (9.2.x)/BAC (OMi - SHR - SHA - BPM)
-CA IntroScope (Wily)
Experience with the following (Secondary):
-Tivoli (ITM, TEP)
-HP OVPM - OVPI
-High School Diploma/GED
