Lead project teams to conduct space and atmospheric science research, and disseminate results through participation in scientific conferences and writing peer-reviewed publications. Obtain funding from external agencies such as NSF and NASA to support the analysis and interpretation of space-science data sets and models. Act as point-of-contact with multiple NSS program offices to solve problems concerning the atmospheric and space environments and their effects on systems.
Qualifications:
BS degree (PhD degree preferred) and minimum eight years of experience in Atmospheric Science, Space Science, or closely related field required. Two or more years experience in working with space system contractors and/or program offices required. Five or more years of experience in conducting space or atmospheric science research required, which may include designing of scientific experiments, analysis of data, mathematical modeling of physical phenomena, and dissemination of research via peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations. SCI clearance or the ability to obtain one.
