The Aerospace Corporation has provided independent technical and scientific research, development, and advisory services to national security space programs since 1960. We operate a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) for the United States Air Force and the National Reconnaissance Office and support all national security space programs. We also apply more than 50 years of experience with space systems to projects for civil agencies like NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, commercial companies, universities, and international organizations in the national interest.

Finance and Business Operations, headed by the Chief Financial Officer, directs the corporation's financial processes to ensure that financial stability and integrity are maintained, and proper internal controls are applied to comply with accounting standards, the Federal Acquisition Regulations, and tax regulations.  We are seeking a Procurement Administrator.  Primary responsibilities include:
  • Responsible for supporting a broad spectrum of subcontract requirements in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Public Law and company practices
  • Commodity responsibilities include constructions projects ranging from new building construction to minor renovations and improvements and miscellaneous projects supporting Facilities and other organizations
  • Take a leading and analytical role on all assigned procurement actions supporting the business and technical mission of the company
  • Duties include:
    • Assisting in the development of project teams
    • Identification of qualified suppliers
    • Assisting in the development of statements of work
    • Preparing and issuing requests for proposal
    • Coordinating job walks and bidder's conferences
    • Managing proposal evaluation and source selection processes
    • Developing detailed price and cost spreadsheets,
    • Conducting supplier negotiations
    • Documenting contract awards
    • Providing post award administration through subcontract closeout
  • Requires significant interaction with suppliers, Aerospace senior management, and numerous internal support organizations including Legal, Risk Management, Security, EIS (IT), and others at the corporate headquarters in El Segundo, CA


Qualifications:


Required:
  • Six or more years of progressively more responsible procurement experience
  • Demonstrated procurement experience and leadership in a broad spectrum of commodities and services including construction contracting
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking in all aspects of procurement and subcontracting
  • Strong computer skills and specific working knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Must be action and results oriented and customer focused
  • Demonstrated initiative and motivation
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or in teams in a fast paced environment
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain clearance

Preferred:
  • Experience negotiating and administering construction contracts using AIA documents
  • SAP experience
  • Major or concentration of study in Business, Finance or related field preferred
