The successful candidate will be a strong contributor to the Storage Engineering teams mission for the current environment, which includes:
Ensuring that the current infrastructure maintains its high performance and availability characteristics while undergoing significant, steady growth. Continually assessing critical aspects of infrastructure such as HA and DR robustness, optimal use of existing monitoring & reporting tools, along with adherence to Travelers and storage vendor best practices. Performing the testing of new code releases in lab environment and documenting the results.
In addition, Storage Engineering tests and evaluates our new technologies as well as the new features and functions available within the current infrastructure. As a member of the team, you will work on technology evaluation projects from beginning to end, which will include the following:
Working with our customers and groups within the IT organization to identify new technologies that can provide value to the business; for example:
Establishment of test criteria based on business requirements. Development, documentation and execution of test plans. Post-evaluation, management, and coordinating the introduction of new technology into the production environment.
Minimum two years experience with the following:
Enterprise Storage from EMC, HP or HDS Large (500+ ports) SAN environment Knowledge of Disk subsystem performance concepts Ability to work independently
Summary: Plans at an operational level designing and developing technology solutions interfacing with appropriate customers, management and technical resources. Facilitates and/or participates in the design, development, and implementation of large, complex technology solutions supporting one or more business and/or technology areas. Develops and implements appropriate solutions that may involve multiple platforms, databases, software/hardware, technologies and tools. Strong ability to multi-task in an environment of changing priorities. May direct project staff in the development and implementation of technology solutions in support of business requirements
