The primary responsibility of the Oracle Database Administrator is to install, configure, tune and maintain the database software.   An additional responsibility for the Database Administrator will be to mentor junior members of the team. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
** Installs, configures, upgrades,  tunes, and maintains production, development and test databases.
** Creates application database objects (tables indexes, view) and grants/revokes security.
** Participates in application outage incidents to ensure database integrity and functionality.
** Participates in the creation and maintenance of back-up jobs.
** Defines and maintains database problem reporting, tracking, and resolution procedures.
** Provides proactive input into design issues/constraints, performance tuning, and impact analysis of changes.
** Supports, enforces and improves upon existing database development, architecture and naming standards.
** All other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
** Ability to effectively communicate internally and with our customers.
** 3-4 years Database administration experience.
** Data Guard experience nice to have.
** Experience with Oracle 10/11/12.
** Working knowledge of DBConsole and/or Grid Control preferred.
** Working knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and various Windows OS preferred
** Must possess excellent communication skills for team projects and client communication.
** Strong analytical skills for problem resolution, database and SQL performance tuning.
