We are actively looking for Unix Systems Engineer, someone who can work for 12 hour shifts (40 hours a week).

Full time opportunity with good benefits and great work culture with a public company based in San Jose, CA.

Shift hrs: 7:00am - 7:00pm with floating weekends

Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor systems to drive troubleshooting and tuning
- First and second tier resolution of production issues and alerts 
- Resolve errors and alarms quickly and provide timely escalation
- Perform Systems Engineering Tasks as needed

Requirements
- 5+ years of Unix Systems Engineering Experience
- Ability to manage and troubleshoot large scale multi-tier systems and high transaction web operations environments 
- Experienced with large and distributed systems like cloud computing, Hadoop and HBase
- Knowledge of common system administration tools, Networking Technologies, Unix (Solaris and Linux specifically) Windows and Storage technologies
- Advanced knowledge of Perl, PHP, Python or Ruby
- Be familiar with Agile software development practices
- Production experience with large scale systems deployment and configuration tools
