Oversees online business-to-customer and business-to-business e-commerce activities as they relate to sales, site design, merchandising strategies, order fulfillment, affiliate relationships, new program development and enhancements and customer service. Acts as the primary contact for all IT-related activities that support banner e-Commerce and .com sites.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
•Serves as a liaison between business units, customers/vendors, and the IT organization for implementing streamlined business processes that improve customer service and reduce costs through e-commerce solutions.
•Gathers requirements and facilitates development of file transfers, integrations between e-commerce and other software/reporting.
•Develops and maintains service-level agreements with internal and external customers, acting as the focal point for performance measurements for tracking and reporting purposes.
•Translates business objectives into systems and/or procedural requirements.
•Manages individual product lifecycles, from understanding a concept or the current state, assessing gaps, defining key capabilities, working across the organization to develop requirements, working with Business, Engineering and Creative resources to understand tradeoffs, through product launch and ongoing management.
•Engages throughout the whole project life-cycle, from inception to production launch and post-launch assessment based on business requirements.
•Produces business requirement artifacts including Use Cases, Business Rules, Supplemental (Non-Functional) Specifications, and User Interface Design Specifications for complex projects.
•Uses market research, customer surveys, customer feedback, and web analytic data to understand customer and business needs, discovering latent gaps, identifying new opportunities to ultimately define a product roadmap.
•Develops realistic business case scenarios for new product capabilities – to rationalize resource investments.
•Transforms complex concepts into executable plans and customer experiences.
•Anticipates industry and product trends, capability prioritization and tradeoffs, balancing business needs versus technical constraints.
•Assists with the initial determination of the feasibility of requests and ensures that user requirements are thoroughly and accurately documented in accordance with standard techniques utilized by the IT department.
•Partners with user representative(s) in identifying acceptance test requirements.
•May assist in the development and presentation of system training materials.
•Partners with user representative(s) in setting realistic response time and/or deliverable expectations.
•Performs necessary follow-up with business partners to ensure new or modified system functionality is performing satisfactorily and that requirements have been met.
•Understands development tools and system architecture sufficiently to communicate technical issues to business partners.
•Helps manage the scope and change control of project in coordination with IT management and business partners.
•Participates with project leader and/or project manager in any post-project audits to ensure that the process is improved for the next project.
•Tracks and reports individual progress, takes appropriate action to complete deliverables on time.
•Minimum of 10 years’ professional experience, with at least 7 years of experience in the design, implementation, configuration, and support of e-commerce and web-based systems and websites.
•Experience in a consumer-oriented web services development environment.
•Broad knowledge of e-commerce and IT systems, as well as comprehensive knowledge of relevant business functions and their interdependencies.
•Experience with relational databases and object-oriented and event-driven techniques.
•Basic knowledge of networking protocols, configuration, and network administration.
•Solid knowledge and experience with web technologies and e-commerce development and implementation including: Adobe Flash, Content Management, Content Implementation, Process Design, Agile, Rich Media, SEO, Design Patterns and Frameworks, Search, Information Architecture, OO Design, UI/Interactive Design, UML and modeling tools, Usability Testing, Usability/Customer Insight, Visual Design and Wireframes.
•Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field.
