As a result of our continued success, Carrington Mortgage Holdings is seeking a Lead Business Intelligence Developer (SharePoint) in Aliso Viejo, CA. In this role you will support 16 different business lines including a national real estate brokerage company, mortgage origination, and mortgage servicing and property management. This is a high visibility position where you will have the chance to work directly with business leaders to learn about their challenges and design solutions.

The Lead will work collaboratively with the Business Intelligence Director to establish and develop business objectives, goals and plans. With minimal supervision & direction from the Business Intelligence Director, this incumbent will design, develop and maintain internally developed Business Intelligence reporting solutions as well as help plan and lead the day-to-day activities of development resources to ensure project related design and development activities are assigned and completed to meet project delivery dates. Perform all duties in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures, all US state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the company operates


Responsible for the design, development and delivery of new internally developed business intelligence solutions and enhancements to existing reporting solutions through hands-on design and development including database architecture, business processes, security, and front-end user interfaces.

  • Utilizing Business Intelligence development software and best practice design processes in support of a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Researching, planning, designing and developing company reporting solutions, maintaining existing reports, working on new enhancements and features, writing, tuning and debugging SQL stored procedures.
  • Collaborating with other developers and management, sharing ideas, presenting ideas during team meetings
  • Working with source code control systems (VSS, TFS)
  • Researching problems as necessary and recommending appropriate solutions
  • Performing code reviews for other team members to ensure development guidelines and security standards are met.
  • Working with senior management to ensure work activities related to design, development and unit testing are appropriately assigned to development team members, progressing as planned, and project delivery dates are met.
  • Providing subject matter expertise and leadership on best practices related to application security, design, development, testing, source code management and release management.
  • Ensuring development staff adhere to published policies, procedures, source code management, security guidelines, development best practice, project management of assigned work, time tracking and code reviews.
  • Assisting in recruiting and interviewing activities for hiring contractors, contract-to-hire, and new full-time development resources.

  • Business Intelligence experience with a variety of BI components specifically SSRS and   BIDS
  • Solid understanding of MS SQL stored procedures, queries and functions
  • Team-player with strong communication and interpersonal skills, possess a high degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated experience with the Software Development Lifecycle concepts and techniques including secure development methodologies

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR LICENSES – preference will be given to candidates who possess a combination of the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software design, management information systems, engineering or a related field. Master’s preferred
  • 8+ years’ experience with software development tools
  • 7+ years’ experience with database management systems – MS SQL
  • 5+ years’ experience with Microsoft BI applications (SSRS, SSAS, SharePoint);
  • 3+ years years’ experience with Microsoft SSIS;
  • Microsoft Certified Developer certification desired
