This VP of Software Engineering will be responsible for planning, managing, and coordinating the efforts reports in  development of J2EE based software applications/products and overseeing all of the Software Develment Managers for this organization,

Additional responsibilities include:

• Meet  with Product Management group to define requirements
• Person  MUST have Development background and be able to Manage Developers as well as Product Management team
• Architectural Design
• SOA, Agile
• Software As A Service (SaaS) experience
• Detail Analysis
• Guiding the developers on high level architectural changes
• Design reviews
• Budget responsibilities, reporting, etc. Will need to understand revenue vs. cost
• Involvement   in future development of product
• Facilitate   communication upward and cross-departmentally including project status, justifications for variances, and technical information (architecture, design   and implementation objectives).
• Ensure   projects are completed according to specifications, are properly documented, and brought to a timely, profitable completion.

Requirements:

• Proven track record in delivering projects and products meeting deadlines and managing multiple priorities, including exceptional follow-through
• Product Development background/Management
• Experience with Scrum or Agile development
• 8 +   years technology experience including software design and development
• 5   years or more of Java/J2EE experience
• 5   years or more of Web Services experience
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
• Any publishing vertical experience would be a plus
