Security Engineer- Remote Access Services

Description

The Security Engineer will primarily be responsible for providing engineering guidance and deliverables for Remote

Access technologies. Responsibilities include:

Provide recommendations to operations on what features to enable and how to use them.

Integrate remote access platforms with enterprise authentication and security technologies.

Design and implement remote access solutions for business units in accordance with corporate policy.

Develop and enhance remote access service offerings by working closely with key stakeholders.

Ensure remote access systems are properly engineered and operated in accordance with corporate policy.

Develop and implement road map for current and future remote access service enhancements.

Collaborate with all stakeholders on remote access service delivery.

Train and mentor operations staff on supporting remote access.

Act as Subject Matter Expert (SME) on vendor remote access technologies.

Cross train and backup other engineers on the support of large scale security systems such as: Palo Alto

Firewalls, Sourcefire IDS, Sourcefire SSL Decrypt, Niksun NetDetect and McAfee IDP.

Lead in supporting some of the smaller or less complex security systems such as: Blackhole, Encase, Yara and Anue

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree coupled with 3+ years’ experience in an IT related field; OR an Associate's

degree coupled with 5+ years’ experience in an IT related field; OR a HS diploma coupled with 7+ years’

experience in an IT related field.

A minimum of 2 years operational, development or engineering experience in the design, deployment or

maintenance of enterprise class Remote Access Technologies.

Experience designing and implementing remote access solutions based on Juniper Remote Access.

Experience with the deployment, maintenance and operations of one or more enterprise class security systems.

An example of such tools include, but are not limited to: Network Firewalls, Network IDPS, Juniper SA (RAS)

appliances, McAfee EPO, McAfee Antivirus, McAfee Application Control (Solidcore), McAfee HIPS, McAfee

Endpoint Encryption, McAfee Change Control, Guidance Encase, HBGary software (Active Defense or Responder

Pro), Symantec End Point Protection, Symantec Antivirus, Microsoft GPO, MS AppLocker, Altiris, and Tripwire,etc.

Desired Qualifications:

Certifications and/or training in Remote Access technologies. Examples include: JNCIA-SSL, JNCIS-SSL, MCSA,MCSE.

Experience in Juniper's Content Intermediation Engine technology. Examples include: Web-Rewrite, Terminal

Services, SAM.

Significant interest in remote access, information security, and authentication technologies.

Experience in Windows Operating Systems basic administration tasks.

Experience in integrating remote access with enterprise authentication services such as Active Directory, PKI,

and OTP solutions.
