Fantastic 3+ mos contract opportunity in downtown Portland with Oregon's most prestigious healthcare and health research facility, OHSU. This multi-faceted position serves as the primary analyst for the Epic Phoenix (transplant) data warehouse project. The ideal candidate should be familiar with Epic Clarity along with current business system analyst experience for providing reporting solutions in an academic medical center. Working knowledge/ability to write SQL queries for the purpose of QA validation is required as this will be leveraged for creation of test cases and assisting others in validating information loaded into our healthcare data warehouse. The candidate will demonstrate capabilities with Business Intelligence tools (Cognos, Business Objects) for the purpose of authoring validation reports and assisting in end-user training. Working knowledge of Data warehousing terminology and technology is essential.
Responsibilities include maintaining data and report documentation, data testing and validation, report development/testing, creation of test plans & cases, working with data warehouse developers to confirm our structures and results accurately reflect identified user requirements, developing training plans and materials, and engaging with healthcare & IT professionals.
This work ensures that the information assets of the OHSU enterprise are leveraged to enhance financial, clinical, and operational decisions. This position is responsible for implementing information technology solutions that allow users to appropriately generate timely, accurate and comprehensive information for managing our business. Solution development will follow the OHSU software development methodology and adhere to data governance, data security, and report standards.
Systems Analysis: Facilitates customer requests for new or changed solutions. Conducts customer requirements workshops, develops options with recommendation, creates functional specifications including performance requirements, creates test plans to confirm delivered functionality. Defines and writes technical documentation related to systems and applications as necessary.
Ten years work related experience in the healthcare information technology field.
Minimum two years paid work experience as an Application Developer, Analyst (or equivalent classification) using reporting tools leveraged for data capture from Epic EMR (e.g. Business Objects, Crystal Reporting, Cognos, Report Workbench).
Experience with facilitating and documenting system requirements sessions.
Experience creating technical documentation of reports and data/report models.
Experience with utilizing star schema data stores as the basis for report development.
Experience with facilitating and participating in QA efforts on BI projects.
Minimum three years working with relational databases.
Proven communication, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Experience with Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and procedures.
Ability to read and explain a data model Ability to read, write and maintain SQL Code.
Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
Experience planning and managing small projects.
