Position Title: Sr. -  Mid-Level Modeler/Animator – Hybrid

Location: Dover, NJ (relocation assistance may not be available)

Employment Terms: Full Time Benefited with WisEngineering (not a Government Employee)

Salary: 50K - 75K (DOE)

Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree with formal training in 3D Modeling / Game Art & Design

With outstanding GPA

 

Additional Information:

Must be able to pass intensive background check and obtain Department of Defense Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship, no felony convictions and no bankruptcy claims.

No public transportation available. Candidate must have his/her own vehicle.

Must submit recent Demo/Reel and bring Portfolio to interview.

Candidate will be required to take two tests which will require 18-20 hours of effort. (Each)

 

Basic and desired skills

• Strong foundation in the traditional arts, including figure drawing and illustration

• Self-driven, passionate, creative problem solver, and a great team player attitude.

• A very good understanding of mechanical systems (vehicles, weapons, etc.)

• A passion for developing video games

• A very good understanding of mechanical systems (vehicles, weapons, etc.)

• Outstanding 2D/3D animation skills

• Modeling and texturing using 3DStudio Max Photoshop. Animation using 3D and 2D programs with Maya and MotionBuilder (a plus)

 

Primary Job Functions:

  • Animation: Generate both mechanical and character animations utilizing a combination of animation techniques including but not limited to Motion Capture, constraint, and key framed animation.
  • Modeling: Generate 3D models and textures based on illustrations, video or photographic reference.

Animation Requirements:

Must have exceptional skill in animating human bipedal figures, as well as mechanical systems (weapon systems, vehicles, etc) of all shapes, sizes, and locomotion. Hands on experience using motion capture systems and working within the full motion capture pipeline from data acquisition, to data cleanup, and finally application to desired character(s) or mechanical objects.

• A thorough understanding of animation pipelines, and the processes involved from the conceptual phase to implementation, including character rigging.

• Ability to develop both simplistic and advanced skeletal control rigs

• Ability to demonstrate a strong understanding of fundamental animation principals.

• Able to effectively collaborate with game designers and programmers

• Able to work creatively as part of a large or small group

• Ability to demonstrate an exceptional understanding of a non-destructive development process / workflow and how to apply it within the development environment

• Experience working with an art team in developing a unique and cohesive animation style relevant to project requirements

• Skills in one or more of the related creation tasks -- modeling, texturing, or rigging

 

Modeling Requirements:

• Superior eye for light, shade, color and detail in creating texture maps and different material types.

• An exceptional understanding of form, shape, structure, silhouette, and scale in regards to modeling

• Portfolio demonstrating an exceptional understanding of visual design and a keen eye toward form, shape, structure, silhouette, and scale with regard to modeling and texturing.

• Ability to demonstrate exceptional problem-solving / prototyping ability

• Able to effectively collaborate with game designers and programmers

• Able to work creatively as part of a large or small group

• Shows an exceptional understanding and has the ability to execute a non-destructive development process / workflow

• Experience working with an art team in developing a unique and cohesive modeling and texturing style relevant to project requirements

• Skill in one or more of the related creation tasks – photography, videography, texturing, and animation.
