Experience in Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite (RMS)
Position Summary: The Sr. Business Analyst will focus on Merchandising functions and the systems supporting those functions. This role will assist our brands in the implementation and ongoing support of the Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite. You will be responsible for actively participating in business requirements definition, functional design, configuration specification and testing of one or more modules within the Oracle Retail Solutions Suite. You will be expected to participate and provide guidance for business process design and potential automation alternatives and provide functional knowledge of the solutions.
Position Responsibilities: Serves as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs. Negotiates agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business unit(s) and IT from initial requirements to final implementation. Educates the IT organization on the direction of the business. Possesses expertise in the business unit(s) they support, as well as, an understanding of the IT organization’s systems and capabilities. Analyzes business partner’s operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to automate processes and functions. Assists in the business process redesign and documentation as needed for new technology. Translates high level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manages changes to such specifications. Possesses an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise’s competitive edge. May make recommendations for buy versus build decision.
Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. 3 to 5 years of relevant technical or business work experience. 3 to 5 years of experience in Oracle Retail Merchandising Suite (RMS) – In depth knowledge of Foundations (Item, Location, Supplier) and hierarchies, Purchase Order, Multi-Channel, Pricing, Inventory Management and Stock Ledger. Working experience with Configuration of user defined attributes (UDA) and customized flex attributes (CFA). Working experience with Oracle Price Management (RPM) and Oracle Retail Point of Service (ORPOS) beneficial. Outstanding communications skills; able to articulate complex technical topics for non-technical audiences. Working experience with SDLC and deliverables associated with each phase. Working experience writing business requirements, use cases, and test plans. Familiar with relational database and client-server concepts. Experience in estimating resources and developing delivery plans. Project management skills; ability to multi-task and keep all projects on schedule. Experience within the retail industry. Certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Certifications: None required; PMP, OMG certifications desired
