MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree, with 1 to 2 years of experience. Ability to independently test .Net and Java client/server software suites with multiple independent components. Application testing on the Windows platform, especially Client/Server .Net and Java applications, data synchronization, and/or XML/SOAP applications. Working experience with RDBMSs (Oracle preferred) and demonstrated ability to write SQL statements. Ability to use scripting languages to automate testing tasks (Visual Basic or VBA preferred). Working knowledge of automated testing tools such as TestPartner, SilkTest, or Quick Test Pro. Experience using version control systems such as CVS, VSS, or TFS. Experience using issue tracking software such as JIRA, BugZilla, or TestTrack Pro. JOB RESPONSIBLITIES: The Junior Quality Assurance Analyst candidate of choice will perform the following activities: Support quality assurance needs of various back-end software applications, databases, web services, data files, hardware components (handhelds, gate workstations, etc.), system integration and sync processing. Test 3-4 major releases and numerous maintenance or patch releases in 9 to 12 month span. Assist in writing QA plans and test cases to verify application functionality. Test on a client/server .NET application that is primarily tested in VM environments on tester desktops and Prod-Sim environments. Understand the database and network architecture used by the applications and how it may or may not impact the testing efforts for the software releases. Manually test application, develop automation scripts for functional and synchronization process validation. Working knowledge of the database and network architecture used by the applications is needed to be able to identify failure points and to know how it may or may not impact the testing efforts for software releases. Ability to work seamlessly in a multi-vendor environment to obtain requirements, specs and pertinent data to accurately test the application is essential. Understand application business rules, configuration management process, deployment process, Test/Model Infrastructure, and backend components required to support the application. Attend required Corporate in-service training.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to sit, stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Vision requirements include close and classroom vision. Must be able to sit for long periods of time working at a computer and participating in meetings.
