Position Summary

The New Product Introduction Engineer is a senior position concentrating on the next generation of F5 products. This position requires strong product and customer deployment awareness. The NPIE exhibits deep technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and familiarity with enterprise architectures. Because of their close working relationship with product development, NPIEs have extensive knowledge of software development processes and development lifecycles. NPIEs spend about 75% of their time interacting with product development on field readiness and 25% of their time on customer facing issues and departmental projects.
Responsibilities

* Influence direction of F5's product integration with cloud, virtualization, and orchestration technologies* Work with Product Development and Product Management to ensure product meets customer needs, with a strong focus on usability and supportability* Identify trends across customer base, propose new service offerings,and conduct analysis of product defects as required* Produce internal training on assigned products and features* Support readiness/awareness initiatives* Represent customers and services personnel throughout the product development process* Act as a subject matter expert for assigned products and technologies* Manage complex projects with minimal need for supervision or assistance* Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications

* Experience with cloud providers such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and OpenStack in terms of installation/configuration of virtual IT infrastructures* Understanding of how cloud computing services are deployed using infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS)* Demonstrated experience and expert-level knowledge of cloud (and related) technologies* Knowledge of virtualization technologies and common hypervisor implementations. Experience with any of the following VMware products an advantage: VShield Manager, VCloud Director, VCloud Networking Services, NSX* Practical experience with F5 products, particularly BIG-IP or BIG-IQ an advantage* Scripting and programming experience an advantage* Experience with network management systems including automation, centralized management, network monitoring, alerts, notification, reporting and performance analysis* Experience with product development lifecycle planning, requirements processes and software development management* Ability to perform product evaluation and testing , including reproduction of complex technical issues* Proven leadership and presentation skills, both oral and written* Ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to an audience of varying technical level* Minimum 8 years relevant work experience in enterprise level environments* Undergraduate degree or equivalent industryexperience
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Duties are performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Duties require the ability to utilize a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material. Duties may require the ability to travel via automobile or airplane, approximately 10% of the time spent traveling.
