Function as the technical lead / engineer in teams of technical professionals who possess various levels of technical and professional skills. Lead the following functions within the realm of voice and data IP networking technologies: architecture, consulting, designing, planning, engineering, testing, evaluation and integration services; large-scale project management. Technologies to be supported will include, but not limited to; Cisco Unified Call Manager (CUCM) 8.x or above, Cisco Call Center Enterprise 8.x or above (CUCCE) Cisco Unity Connection Voice Mail, NICE IP Call Recording, British Telecom Turrets, Video-conferencing, Web-conferencing, VoIP, Carrier Networks, wireless communications, Carrier Transport networks (OC48, DWDM, Gigabit Ethernet, MPLS, T1, T3), with prior exposure to Cisco router, switching, and firewalls.
Engineering support for third-level problem isolation and resolution. Senior level skills required in IPT, Unified Communications, ACD projects, including upgrades, capacity planning. Facilitate and manage the implementation of voice and telecommunications infrastructure components according to Putnam standards and strategic plans.
This position requires 8-10 years of prior related experience, the proven ability to lead successful initiatives in a technical environment of high complexity, and the applicable required technical knowledge. A Bachelor Degree or equivalent hands on experience is required for this position. CCNA-Voice or above certification preferred.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Manage the implementation, testing and transition for ongoing support of Cisco Voice, UC, and Cloud voice networking solutions according to Putnam standards; Work closely with assigned Putnam client services representative(s) to foster a team atmosphere and align/manage project plans and goals on behalf of Putnam and the business unit supported.
Facilitate and manage the implementation of carrier and third-party telecommunications infrastructure components according to Putnam standards and strategic plans and in order to meet defined business needs.
Participate in R&D, strategy-definition and continuous process improvement/reengineering activities related to network solutions, products and services.
Render third-level network support as necessary; systematically troubleshoot and resolve network problems.
Assist enterprise engineering counterparts in inter-building or corporate-wide connectivity issues.
