We are seeking a Facility Engineer II to be responsible for the operation, and maintenance of all electrical, mechanical, and HVAC equipment within the Data Center. This equipment supports mission-critical servers and must maintain better than 99.999% uptime. The incumbent will also be responsible for vendor selection and various contract negotiations.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper distribution of power within the facility and to equipment racks. - Ensure prompt repair of any failed or degraded equipment. - Ensure proper operation and maintenance of all equipment. - Ensure prompt repair of any failed or degraded equipment. - Manage contractors and vendors that perform work in the Data Centers. Institute and maintain maintenance contracts for equipment. - Ensure that all necessary permits are obtained.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Advanced knowledge of high voltage filtered systems including UPS, PDU, transformer, etc. - Advanced knowledge of generators. - Advanced knowledge of CRAC systems. - Knowledgeable of local building and fire codes and regulations. - Basic knowledge of computers and office software. - College degree preferred or equivialent work experience. - 5-8 years experience in data center operations. - Experience with Microsoft Office. - License facilities operation trade in mechanical, electrical or HVAC required in one or more areas.erience required. - Experience in leading projects and managing within a budget. - Must exhibit a fanatical customer service attitude. - Exhibits good communications and writing skills. - Due to the nature of the position, must be able to lift 50 lbs. over head. - Due to the 24x7 operations of the facility, must be able to work a flexible work schedule, may include nights, weekends, holidays, etc.
