The responsibility of this position is to ensure Huron Consulting Group complies with compliance standards including but not limited to Sarbanes Oxley, HIPAA, FERPA, and ISO 27001 from an infrastructure security perspective. The Sr Security Engineer will follow industry best practices on globally deployed technologies ranging from Cisco ASA firewalls, SNORT IPS sensors, NESSUS, Metasploit, and others. However, their primary responsibility will be the management of a complex Cisco ASA firewall infrastructure. The ideal candidate is looking for a fast paced environment where emerging security technologies are designed and implemented by an energetic team of bright individuals.

Job Details:

  • Administration, troubleshooting and resolving security infrastructure on Huron Consulting Group’s data network, including:
    • VPN (both site to site or L2L and Remote Access)
    • Cisco ISE
    • Multicontext Firewalls, Active-Active Configurations and Clustering
    • Intrusion Detection and Prevention
    • Linux, Unix Systems and Microsoft Windows Systems
    • Non-Windows authentication controls, i.e. Cisco ACS, ISE, RSA, PGP
  • Process Improvement
  • Disaster Recovery
  • Standard Operating Procedures Documentation
  • Investigating security breaches and suspected security breaches
  • Generating Evidence for Compliance/Audit
  • Other IT-related operations, administration and maintenance functions, as required

Job Requirements:

    • Good understanding of identity service management,  administration and troubleshooting

    • Teamwork skills to maintain strong working relationships within and outside IT, to develop a results-oriented work environment
    • Excellent follow-up skills to see tasks through to resolution, and communicate problem status to end users such as notification of completion, notification of delay, and explaining rationale.

 Background Experiences

 

    • Preferred Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Security
    • SANS Institute GCIA, GCFW or GCIH preferred Other SANS Certifications Considered
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer related field or 5+ years of experience
    • 3+ years of experience in Information Security or related field
    • Hands on experience with IT Security infrastructure
    • Demonstrated skills running complex Cisco Security Architectures
    • Experience with Snort based IDS/IPS a plus
