Position Summary

 

We're looking for a few core technical operations team members to take our infrastructure automation and deployment process to the next level. We're just beginning a major update of our datacenters and internal systems, and we're looking for help implementing our new vision.

Duties & Responsibilities

 

·         Participate in development of technical roadmaps associated with supported developer platforms

·         Understand the role of the system in the overall infrastructure and provide ideas and recommendations regarding evolution of the system to meet client needs. Will be a catalyst for shaping the product features based on client and operational needs

·         Demonstrate complete understanding of data flow in / out of the system including a good understanding of error and exception management

·         Ability to present new approaches to management for process and procedure streamlining. Evaluates risks and / or quality concerns with existing processes and procedures.

·         Consult with development resources to determine design approach for system enhancements

·         Develop test cases for major system level enhancements

·         Validate test cases developed by testing team

·         Develop subject matter expertise in assigned products/services for internal and external clients

·         Document release notes, including new/updated processes, client setup/configuration changes, database schema changes and user interfaces

·         Analyze system related issues, offer and document possible solutions and decide on the best technical solution to support the business

·         Provide input to and/or create documentation for client management and sales teams to assist in communicating system capabilities to current and potential clients

·         Develop and design operational reports for departmental needs

·         Provide technical training to internal and external teams and users

·         Perform other activities and duties as requested

·         Be on call on a rotating basis

Required Skills

 

·         Strong Linux background, you can setup and configure a machine from bare metal

·         Comfortable scripting up tasks in shell, perl, python, or something similar

·         Experience working with automation projects like Chef or Puppet

·         Solid networking experience

·         A background working in high availability, transaction rate, and data volume systems

·         Experience with production monitoring and alerting systems like Nagios, Graphite, Munin, or similar

·         A history of working with continuous integration systems like Bamboo or Hudson

 

Education/ Experience

 

·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required

·         2-4 years of experience around Linux environments, automation projects, and software development.
