Who are you?

We are actively seeking a talented, driven and highly productive Director of Corporate Systems to join our dynamic organization. Under the general direction of the Vice President of Information Systems, the incumbent plans, budgets, organizes, and collaborates with operating departments in the implementation and operation of critical information systems in finance/accounting/procure-to-pay and HR, personal productivity (collaboration, desktop applications and records management) and IT infrastructure.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Works with key finance and productivity system owners to conceptualize, vision and create 5 year system strategic plans; personally or through subordinates creates, executes and manages 3 year capital and operating budgets and coordinates projects with other department heads, outside agencies, contractors and consultants.   Assesses, plans, and applies resources to meet vision; defines and monitors staff development and performance.  Leads or facilitates evaluation processes for new systems and capabilities; structures and negotiates deals.  Ensures personally or through subordinates that projects are executed on time and on budget; and, identifies and injects opportunities to improve on results and enhance capabilities.  Serves as chief information security officer for San Jose Water Company. 

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education:

A Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a closely related field.

Specific Experience/Education:

• 7 years’ experience as a supervisor or manager in IT or as a project implementer and leader in varied situations.
• Hands on foundation in one or more IT content areas including business systems, workflow, business analysis, project management, programming, databases, network and data center operations, cloud or hosted services, web, security;  and, skill planning for technology architecture, staff development and IT governance.

Additional Useful Skills:

• Ability to work with top management, external, and government business partners.  Ability to negotiate, and plan and achieve profitable application of technology. 
• Excellent written and oral communication and administrative skills. 

Other Requirements:

Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.
