The order management team is developing an event-driven, RESTful SOA platform on top of Storm. This platform currently allows Wayfair to process tens of thousands of orders daily, and paves the way for our system to handle tens of thousands more. We want developers that think of collaboration, design, and scalability.

The team is looking for sharp, logical thinkers who have a strong background in software design and a desire to code. We use many open source tools and also develop many tools in-house. Given the wide array of technologies in our environment, we prize an array of abilities including (but not limited to): working the full stack, writing elegant code (OO, functional, procedural), being able to present ideas, and brainstorming on white boards. 
 

An ideal candidate has:

  • Exceptional problem solving skills, experience developing creative solutions to complex problems
  • Large systems design and development experience
  • OOPHP is a plus, but not required
  • Database design, development and performance optimization experience
  • Sense of humor and excellent communication skills
  • Desire to mentor, teach and lead teams
  • BA/BS degree from a 4-year college or university
