Rabobank, N.A. has an exciting opportunity for a Information Security Officer!  The Information Security Officer develops and recommends, policies, standards and procedures that are in compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements in the use of in-house, vendor, internet and personal computer (PC) based systems. Organizes and performs tests of security of data processing operations, operating systems, networks and related processes and functions.  Responsibilities will include and are not limited to the following:

  • Reviews reports, files and messages to identify instances of possible security infractions.
  • Responsible for the safe, private and accurate use of various system resources, including the security of data and information systems on central and distributed servers, workstations and networks throughout the corporation.
  • Reviews yearly certifications done by the Application Managers and spot checks departmental records to support those certifications.
  • Maintains an effective customer information security program compliant with the provisions of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and prepares an annual report on the overall status and the Bank’s level of compliance with the program. Monitors and recommends adjustments to the program as necessary.
  • Writes and recommends data security compliance policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Coordinates documents and reports on internal investigations of possible security violations.Coordinates a yearly certification of all password based systems with the responsible Application Managers.
  • Coordinates information on service provider monitoring with the appropriate Application Managers and oversees the effectiveness of those efforts.
  • Maintains the AIC application risk assessment of all bank applications.
  •  Performs the Operational Risk Assessment (OSA) process for all bank facilities.
  • Audits the activities of Security Administrators on various software applications.
  • Responds to inquiries regarding data and computer security policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the planning, communication, testing and implementation of disaster recovery procedures.
  • Educates personnel on the importance of security around computer data and usage.
  • Attends RNA Security Committee Meetings and presents applicable topics.
  • Interfaces with internal and external audit functions, security and federal regulatory examiners as required.
  • Works with law enforcement and legal representatives in investigations of possible security violations.

Successful candidates will possess the following: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent with minimum of 4 years related computer operations, network management, and/or security and compliance experience, preferably in a financial services environment.
  • Experience with Firewall management/log review experience preferred.
  • Preferred experience with the use of monitoring/detection tools such as Arcsight, DBprotect, Qualys, Tripwire, etc.
  •  Must have complete understanding of the IS Policy and Procedures manual, IS internal procedures, Bank policies and procedures relating to security and compliance, and IS regulatory compliance. 
  • Excellent human relations and communication skills to be able to assist Managers/Supervisors with discrete security issues.
  • Be able to travel between the branches (within same region or via plane) and periodically commute for security purposes. 
  • Ability to operate various office machines such as personal computer, Microsoft applications (i.e. Excel, Word). Must be flexible and adaptable to changes and self-starter.
