Duties and Responsibilities:
-Provide ongoing technical support for customers using key Registry Plus tools (EDITS Engine/Writer and associated tools).
-Develop tools and methods to streamline support for customers using the Registry Plus products.
-Design and write enhancements to C++ code for the EDITS Writer program based on evolving standards requirements, user requests, and technological advances.
-Modify the EDITS Metafile data structure to accommodate increased demand for more advanced data checking capabilities.
-Maintain and improve program code for the EDITS Engine library of functions to accommodate increased editing requirements and demands.
-Participate in standards-setting committee meetings and activities to provide experience, expertise, and guidance to in the area of data validity checking.
-Advise CDC programmers, software vendors, and developers in relation to embedding EDITS products within their software.
-Test EDITS and related software with real or realistic test data as appropriate.
-Advise and consult the National Metafile Administrator to improve the performance of EDITS software and ease of maintenance.
-Write and maintain documentation of NPCR EDITS systems and programs in multiple forms.
-Provide systems design and application support for CDC/NPCR software including: EDITS Engine/Writer and associated tools based upon a set of priority lists.
-Participates in Developers Meetings and contributes to the feature sets for enhancements of Registry Plus products.
-Prepares both technical documentation for customer-based IT support staff and training materials for end users of Registry Plus products.
-Formal training or (5) years professional experience in application development.
-Knowledge of fundamental algorithms and data structures.
-Experience in one or more languages required (i.e, C, C++, .NET, Java, SAS).
-(12) years of experience developing and providing support for the EDITS -Engine/Writer and associated tools.
-(8) years of experience in developing applications that integrate EDITS data structures.
-Must be able to obtain an NACI clearance.
-Typically requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and 10-12 years of related (systems analysis and complex business systems support) experience.
