Duties and Responsibilities:
At CACI, we value quality, efficiency, and speed. As a Hardware Engineer you will be a technical contributor who will design, implement, and improve large mobile data center environments for CACI's client.
Tasks may include various aspects of project planning, architecture/design, requirements analysis, installation, implementation, optimization, documentation, and limited customer support.
Working with a team of engineers and with stakeholders in a variety of roles, you will provide leadership by example, leveraging deep, strong technical knowledge, system and infrastructure design skills, and clear concise communication.
Working to ensure that outstanding quality and performance standards are achieved in everything we do.
Typically requires bachelors degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience.
Must be able to obtain TS/SCI security clearance.
You will be part of an exciting team that supports the Intelligence Community in bringing cutting-edge solutions to analysts, operators, and warfighters. You'll work with other engineers to address system, hardware, and software integration considerations. You'll continue to improve your technical expertise through the identification of new tools, processes and technical solutions to resolve problems and/or improve project output.
You will have most, if not all, of the following skills:
Strong technical background in Data Center (DC) technologies, including (but not limited to) servers, storage, virtualization, networking, infrastructure management, and data center facilities (size, weight, power, cooling, ironwork, cabling)
Converged Infrastructure Knowledge (Preferably, Implementation)
Ability to evaluate factors such as reporting formats required, cost constraints, and the need for security restrictions to determine hardware configuration.
Direct technicians, engineering designers, or other technical support personnel as needed.
Monitor functioning of equipment and make necessary modifications to ensure the system operates in conformance with specifications.
Provide training and support to system designers and users.
Select hardware and material, assuring compliance with specifications and product requirements.
Specify power supply requirements and configuration, drawing on system performance expectations and design specifications.
Test and verify hardware and support peripherals to ensure that they meet specifications and requirements, analyzing and recording test data.
Performing assessment and provide recommendations including gap analysis and recommendations.
Good understanding of high-level network architecture;
Ability to review application data flow diagrams;
Experience on a virtualization platform (vSphere, Hyper-V, Xen, KVM, OVM);
Hardware engineering experience to include: GigE, Fiber, HADOOP computing platform, Storage Area Network (SAN), Large-Scale (Terabytes) Data Sensitivity Handling, Linux, Multi-modal Biometrics, Network Monitoring software, Perl Scripting, Project Management, Shell Script and Grid Computing
