CGI is looking for an experienced Database tower manager to lead our team of DBA professionals.

Our Database team supports over 1000 Oracle, MySQL and MS SQL databases and is growing every month. We are looking for an individual who can lead this team to new levels of excellence.

Duties include:


Manage a growing team of database administration professionals

Manage team productivity with leadership, guidance and a learning environment that results in employee retention and personal growth.

Define and implement standards that improve database administration processes and procedures

Promote and cultivate a client-focused, service-oriented culture within the team.

Manage effective working relationships with internal and external customers.

Ensure processes meet all audit and budget requirements

Required Skills:


Must have 5+ years experience managing a technical database team

Working knowledge of Oracle, MySQL and/or MS SQL

Understanding of High Availability solutions (RAC, SQL clustering, etc)

Must be able to work closely with other towers to ensure effective delivery of our database solutions

Must be able to manage to a budget, forecast new expenses and increase efficiencies when possible

Must be able to motivate existing staff and recruit new talent as needed. At CGI, we're a team of builders.
