Essential Duties and Responsibilities ***********Design and execute overall testing strategies based on key customer and business needs, current functionality, and technical capabilities of software products.*This will include identification and implementation of automated testing where reasonable. ***********Create and maintain test plans, cases and reports to document the testing process and verify functional specifications and user requirements.*This will include identification, documentation, and tracking of system defects. ***********Design and develop test scripts for test data entry, automation, and results verification. ***********Design and conduct full system integration testing, system performance characterization, black-box application testing, and regression testing of software products. ***********Participate in the design and development of software products with an emphasis on reviewing business requirements, functional specifications, design documents, use cases, and test documentation to ensure coverage and testability of product functionality and requirements. ***********Design, setup, and configuration of test equipment, environments, and support systems. ***********Contribute to the organization*s ongoing process improvement initiatives with an emphasis on good documentation and transition to a more automated testing environment. |
Additional Duties and Responsibilities ***********Accomplish all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested. |
Experience, Education and Licensure ***********BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience. ***********3 or more years experience performing test engineering in a communications environment ***********Experience developing and/or testing network applications, satellite communications, embedded applications, and serial communications. ***********Proficiency with databases including demonstrated ability to create and modify SQL queries. ***********Proficiency with commercial automated testing tools and/or scripting languages. ***********Working knowledge of XML, Java, Perl, C, C++, and/or C# . ***********Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to interface with customers. ***********Professional certifications, such as CTFL, CSTE or CSQA. ***********Working knowledge of SDLC, CMMI, and associated processes. |
Minimum Requirements ***********Experience with GUI, client-server, data-flow, interface and component application testing. ***********Demonstrated knowledge of software test methodologies with the ability to identify items not covered by test plans and procedures. ***********Demonstrated ability to develop and document test plans, procedures, and reports. ***********Proficiency in Windows and Linux environments including system navigation and program execution via the command line. ***********Demonstrated knowledge of basic programming concepts and the ability to create test scripts. ***********Excellent verbal and written communication skills. ***********Proficiency with MS Office. ***********US Citizenship with active or eligibility for a security clearance. |
