Sr. Network Engineer
Location: Greater Los Angeles Area, CA
Duration: Contract to Hire (3 months)
Client Pay: $45.00 - $55.00/hour
Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned and talented Sr. Network Engineer to work on a contract to hire basis for a client of ours in the Greater Los Angeles Area. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience supporting a medium to large sized network in a fast paced internet environment. A well rounded, strong team player will thrive in this position must be experienced, yet eager to learn and take on new projects. This is a great opportunity to get your foot in the door with a rapidly growing company in the internet technology space.
Responsibilities:
Day-to-day network operations, server maintenance, monitoring, backup, compliance and high-level user and Web developer support
Participation in various project in a fast paced environment
Explore and implement new technologies and improve general technical knowledge
Manage the deployment of appropriate security patches, hot fixes, and antivirus software updates, as well as proactively secure the network infrastructure
Required:
Ability to understand the entire process from inception to completion and foresee possible glitches and lessen negative outcomes
Excellent systems troubleshooting experience
Demonstrated advanced knowledge of and experience with Cisco/Microsoft, as well as windows administration, networking, virtualization, SAN management and StrongMail support
Windows Administration and LAN/WAN experience
Heavy experience with MS SQL administration and backup systems
Minimum of 3 years experience with Windows 2003/2008, Active Directory, Group Policy, SNMP network and service monitoring
Minimum of 2 years experience performing email administration in an Exchange 2007 environment, other e-mail servers, including e-mail deliverability
3 years Web server administration multiple servers, high traffic
DNS administration experience
Experience working with SANs
Experience working with VoIP
Experience working with firewalls
Exposure to Email Service Providers preferably Strong Mail
Preferred:
CCNA/CCNP/VCP/MCSA 2000/2003 strongly desired
Experience working in a secure network environment
Exchange Server 2007 and Microsoft Corporate Instant Messaging products
Linus experience a plus
Security related certification such as CISSP, vendor security certification
