Long established professional services firm in the DC area is looking for SENIOR JAVA ENGINEER to join their team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

We seek a Senior J2EE Software Engineer who will actively support a large, integrated software development team interfacing with analysts, architects, software engineers, end users and stakeholders.   The selected individual will develop complex web applications leveraging geospatial components, J2EE/STRUTS, Oracle RDBMS, and business analytics.  . The team is currently renovating this Grants Management System and adding new enhancements to better support the grants lifecycle.  This J2EE Software Engineer will have the opportunity to work on a variety of challenging assignments to support critical operations and maintenance releases as well as GIS and other major enhancements

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

Perform complex analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation of new data changes and user requests; utilizing experience with Java 6, JSP, EJB, HTML, and STRUTS.

Identify and perform unit tests using TDD approach Utilize Agile development techniques and methodologies

Manage deliverables to meet milestone reviews and scheduled releases

Assist in an average of two deployments per week to multiple system test and production environments

Utilize SQL skills and experience with TopLink, EclipseLink, JDBC, WebLogic and Oracle database.

Peer review other developers' work for quality.

Write system design and application code documentation.

Perform job functions in accordance with established project standards and processes.

Required Years of Experience 3-5 years

Computer Science or related area preferable, experience cannot be substituted for the degree

Required Skills     Experience using Java J2EE, JSP, EJB, HTML and STRUTS

Strong SQL skills and experience with TopLink, EclipseLink, JDBC, WebLogic and Oracle database is desired.

Familiarity with UML models.

Experienced in TDD.

Oracle database and Oracle Application Server strongly desired

Sun Certified Java Programmer Certification

Sun Certified Web Services Developer Certification

Must be US Citizen, no dual citizenship allowed.
