Business Analyst SDLC Requirements Gathering Agile SQL SharePoint MS Office

Business analyst responsible for gathering, documenting, interpreting, troubleshooting, modifying and recommending requirements to improve business processes and systems. Works with the various business units/customers and IT to ensure the delivery of high quality, high value added solutions that meet the requirements, budget and timeline goals of the business units/customers.
Actively identifies and engages in process improvement initiatives for the team and helps drive the adoption of best practices.
Conducts knowledge transfer sessions with the team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Good analysis and problem solving skills. Can apply proven analytical methods to understand difficult processes and problems and can recommend innovative solutions.
Effective at efficiently gathering and documenting requirements (Features List, Business, Supplemental, Non-Functional/Technical, User Interface, Data etc.) using the approved methodology, processes and standard artifacts.
Understands the requirements, can identify the interdependencies and overall project impact. Works with the business/customer to prioritize the requirements and any defects/issues that may arise.
Effective working on medium to large complex projects and multiple projects concurrently.
Effective in both written and verbal communications. Ensures communications are timely, appropriate and at the right level of detail.
Listens and understands the concerns and needs of the individual stakeholders and their frame of reference. Patient and open-minded to consider alternative points of view.
Keeps project meetings focused, on track and productive.
Identifies and documents known and potential risks and can work effectively with the team to develop the appropriate risk mitigation strategies, contingency plans and estimates.
Provides accurate and detailed estimates of the BA work to ensure the development of a realistic project plan. Can evaluate estimates and determine reasonableness.
Effective at answering questions and providing direction on the creation of test cases, reviewing test cases, conducting smoke tests and assisting with QA testing when needed.
Continually striving to increase your knowledge of the business/customer and to understand their needs and concerns. Effective in establishing yourself as the subject matter expert (SME) for the business/customer. Effective at establishing and maintaining an open and honest relationship with the business/customer and gaining their trust and respect.
Engages in project reviews with the senior business analyst staff to ensure the methodology, processes, artifacts and best practices are being followed on all your projects. Seeks guidance and mentoring to ensure compliance.
Knowledge and Experience:
2 – 3 years experience working on software development projects
1 – 2 years experience working on medium to large complex projects
1 – 2 years experience using Agile techniques/approach
1 – 2 years experience using SQL and related SQL query tools
1 – 2 years experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired: Experience with MS SharePoint, Team Foundation Server, BridgeTrak and Enterprise Architect.
Desired: Experience within the Healthcare Industry.
