Job Title:   Developer (J2EE, Java)

Job Description:   Role Overview (General Description)

* Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including technical design, documentation, software development, unit testing and production implementation

* Participate in post-production software maintenance and bug fixes

* Implement solutions in a given technology domain (e.g., user interfaces, databases, high-performance computing, etc.) or specific application of technology to a business domain (e.g., algorithmic trading, low latency exchange access, risk management) characterized by recognized extensive experience, knowledge and skill in the technology or application of technology

Scope & Complexity

* Participate in design and implementation projects of low-to-moderate complexity for one particular application

* Responsible for non-functional and functional performance of one particular application


Responsibilities (Detailed Description)

* Understand and help shape a client s requirements at the team or sub-department level

* Plan and execute end-to-end development of applications from technical specifications and design documents

* Plan and execute successful unit, performance, system, integration and acceptance testing

* Plan and conduct code reviews and incorporate lessons into work practices


Mandatory and/or Desired Skills

* Must have subject-matter expertise in Java and J2EE including hand-coding using a text editor

* Must have strong knowledge of the financial industry. In-depth knowledge of particular financial products or processes preferred

* Must have strong Object-Oriented Design and development capabilities

* Must have general knowledge of database environments and platforms such as Oracle or Sybase as well as ability to write queries using SQL at a basic level

* Must be fluent in developing large web applications and portals using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, .ASP, .Net and/or Windows Communications Framework (WCF), XML and XSLT.

* Must be capable in Web Accessibility, Section 508 and ADA Compliance as it pertains to software design

* Desirable skills: EXJS implementation, JSON usage, AJAX, Web Services implementation, integration experience using Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SilverLight, Flex, Flash and SOAP APIs

* Must demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills
