Senior Linux Administrator - Cloud Computing
The Sr. Systems Administrator will ensure the deployment, high availability, performance, and scalability of the Linux Infrastructure.
Responsibilities: Implement software and hardware to support the Linux environment Install, upgrade, configure, and tune Linux systems including hardware, system software, and applications Analyze system errors as well as specific server / storage performance issues Formulate and implement monitoring, policies, procedures and standards relating to server and storage management Perform system backup and recovery
Experience: 7 plus year's systems administration experience in a production Linux environment Extensive knowledge and experience in supporting and troubleshooting Linux networking services and protocols: TCP/IP, NIS, DNS, NFS, LDAP, FTP, SSH, SMTP, SNMP, SSL, and HTTP Demonstrated understanding of Linux clusters and cluster technologies Experience with vendor management Expertise with Amazon EC2 or Rightscale supporting a production application deployment.
Skills: Operating Systems (Unix, Linux (Gentoo a plus), Windows and Mac OS X), Application Servers (Tomcat / Glassfish), Web Servers (Apache / Lighttpd), Java Services, MySQL administration, Xen virtualization and Linux clustering, bash/Perl scripting, system monitoring and backup, DNS, Firewalls and Routers (Cisco / Foundry), and vendor management. Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline
