IBM is looking for an Application Developer that will apply technical expertise / capabilities and Java development skills to design and develop efficient software solutions across all layers of the UCMS application, based upon client's business requirements

Analyze customer requirements

Work closely with the Lead Developer, Architect, and DBA to implement component designs for Domain Objects, Data Access Services, Functional components, and Portlets, relative to a common business area

Develop efficient software solutions

Verify the accuracy and validity of all software developed

Create unit and integration test scenarios, facilitating a test-driven environment

Prepare all required documentation indicating system functionality.

Consultants hired into GBS Public Sector will typically be located in an IBM office or at an IBM client site. Some projects do require up to 100% travel for an extended period of time that is generally < 1 year.

* High School Diploma/GED
* At least 3 years experience in performing complex analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation
* At least 3 years experience in performing as a technical resource or developer for a large team
* At least 3 years experience in Java development with RAD / Eclipse, Web Services
* Basic knowledge in pattern-based, object-oriented development (sp., MVC)
* Basic knowledge in ORM and DI frameworks, specifically Spring / Hibernate
* Basic knowledge in XML, Unified Modeling Language (UML)
* Readiness to travel Up to 5 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
* English: Fluent

Preferred
* Bachelor's Degree
* At least 5 years experience in performing complex analysis, design, development, testing, and implementation
* At least 5 years experience in performing as a technical resource or developer for a large team
* Basic knowledge in JSR-168 specification
* At least 3 years experience in XML, Unified Modeling Language (UML)
* At least 3 years experience in Federal Accessibility Standards (508)
* At least 3 years experience in Rational ClearCase TM, Relational Diagram
* At least 3 years experience in Oracle database, SOA Architecture, UNIX/AIX
