Note: Must have skills Network Security, CCIE in Security.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically has 10 to 12 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/security/network environments performing network security engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning and implementation. The successful candidate for this role will work closely with internal IT network professionals, as well as other consultant resources, and will be expected to exhibit strong network security skills in order to participate in a variety of security remediation initiatives. The details of this initiative are highly sensitive and the candidate must exercise discreetness and maintain the confidentiality of the information. The candidate should be well-versed in Cisco ASA and other Cisco technologies, and some of the responsibilities will include: • Achieving a variety of highly visible goals as part of a security remediation project • Following the company’s existing networking technology standards • Performing global network implementation and engineering functions including, but not limited to, day-to-day change and configuration management activities • Advancement of network capabilities related to network security, availability and stability of the global network infrastructure • Activities related to leading resolution efforts stemming from Priority 1 call response, incident management and root cause analysis • Ten or more years of experience in networks, LAN/WAN, Security or management information systems • CCIE certification is highly desired • Must have hands on working knowledge of a wide range of network technologies in a variety of environments such as LAN, Data Center, WAN, Enterprise voice using IPT & VoIP technologies, Unified Communications, Transport services, security components, security policies, and Mobility. Knowledge and expertise across multiple vendors (i.e. firewalls, switches, routers, load balancers, WAN optimizers, DNS) • Experience working with multiple technical platforms (i.e. back-end server-DB, two-tiered client-server, three-tiered server-client-server) and multiple network systems along with the interoperability (i.e. Nortel, Cisco, Juniper, CheckPoint, Palo Alto, Cisco ISE, Microsoft server, Windows 7, etc.) • Must demonstrate experience developing enterprise implementations to include complex designs, complex security solutions, implementation schedules, and migration approaches • Strong communication skills to interact with team members, management, customers and support personnel • Strong ability to analyze and solve complex problems using analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of networks • Proven ability to anticipate problems, resolve ambiguity and take decisive action • Demonstrated ability to convey a strong presence, professional image, and deal confidently with highly complex technical problems • Thrives in a time-critical atmosphere, handles multiple initiatives concurrently, and works in a results-oriented environment
Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless and VoIP) of moderate complexity. Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations. Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications. Monitors protocol compatibility, performs system tuning and makes recommendations for improvement. • Help the company with all aspects of the security remediation initiative • Individual will provide expertise and technical assistance in all aspects of the network services platform, including LAN, WLAN, WAN, network security, network monitoring, remote connectivity and network perimeter services for approximately 27,000 end users • Develops and generates deliverables, including but not limited to conceptual, logical, and physical network architecture renderings, security solutions, design packages, standards documents, drawings, testing analyses, test plans, and risk assessments to ensure sound architecture that meets and exceeds client needs • Provides guidance and recommendations on courses of action to take related to the security initiative • Determines strategic approaches for the customer, based on assessment of customer needs • Develops or modifies processes that will help improve or control the security posture
