Server Administrator

Great opportunity for the right candidate, permanent or contract to hire position with a mid size company in Pasadena.    1. College degree is not required nor desired. Certification is a plus. 2. Only 3 - 8 years' experience in Server Administration immediately following high school and, optionally immediate subsequent of, technical school graduation. a. Must have the ability to work late shifts at times for weekly MS updates, migrations and troubleshooting and be on call 24/7 for very rare issues. b. Must have a solid understanding of Server 2008 OS in general c. Must have hands-on experience with Exchange 2010, IIS 7.5, SQL 2008 (will consider if lacking one) d. Must have philosophical understanding of DNS, WINS, DHCP and Hyper-V e. Must have philosophical understanding of sub netting and routing f. Should have a good understanding of Windows 7 g. Should have a good understanding of Office 2010 h. A plus would be SAN, NAS and clustering experience

This candidate will be groomed over several years to eventually be able to handle all Enterprise servers and services without much supervision. Will work directly with VP of IT and a Systems Administrator. This candidate must have the tenacity to follow through, be able to follow procedures exactly and have a spirit of helping. This person will be exposed to all aspects of an Enterprise.
