Candidates MUST have strong IP background, specifically with IN-HOME networking and customer premise devices such as home routers and video set-top-boxes.
The candidate will work as part of a team and also independently in a lab environment performing testing on elements, components, and networks that are part of Client video deployments. The candidate is expected to: • Perform testing and full lifecycle support for Client FiOS services including testing of equipment such as Broadband Home Routers, Set Top Boxes, and digital media devices • Reporting issues and performing related activities such as troubleshooting, data gathering, and working with other groups and team members to resolve • Analyze requirements, write test plans, construct test beds, execute test cases and document results • Participate in and/or conduct periodic status meetings with vendor and client on testing and trouble ticket status • Review and contribute to product documentation and manuals, requirements and design documents • Establish test setups with limited information • Provide field support to track, replicate, and troubleshoot issues and help drive solutions • Have strong written and verbal communications and presentation skills
Candidate skills and knowledge are expected to include the following: • Understand how to troubleshoot using the OSI model • Experience with Home Networking Products (Broadband Routers, Set Top Box and 802.11 b/g/n wireless) • Ability to use test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, MPEG analyzers, oscilloscopes, RF signal meters, etc. • Ability to provide network support in configuring and troubleshooting routers and IP protocols • Experience with IP protocols and streaming media formats • Experience with IP protocols • (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, FTP, HTTP, UDP, LAN and WAN, Throughput and Latency, Routers, Switches, etc., Network+ certification preferred)
