Job Description

Title:Cobol DB2 Developer

Location: Atlanta, GA

Duration: 12 months

Required:

• 6-9 years of application development using COBOL /  DB2
• Knowledge of DB2 utilities
• TSO ISPF
• Cobol
• MVS JCL
• Disciplined in the area of application change control using a Source Manager such as Changeman
• Extensive design experience
• Ability to produce high quality code for production use
• Knowledge of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with solid teamwork ethic and customer focus.
• Experience with MS Office applications
• Must be independent and self-motivated, with a knack for taking the initiative, overcoming obstacles
• Strong understanding relational (conceptual, logical, physical) data models

  Preferred:  

• 3-5+ years of experience performing DB2 DBA applicationfunctions
  • build and maintain ddl to create database objects on TEST systems
    • Tablespaces
    • Tables
    • Indexes
    • Triggers
    • Stored procedures
    • Image copies/reorgs if needed
• Knowledge of IBM DB2 Admin Tools and IBM DB2 Table Editor
• Experience with IDMS
• Experience with SAS
• Experience with Changeman
• Experience with Scheduling software
• Experience with Xpediter
• Experience with MQ Series
• Experience with TMON for DB2
• Experience with HPSM problem/request system
