BI Analyst Developer – 5302

Location: Baltimore, MD

Job Description:        

Responsible for assigned projects and activities which emphasize the maintenance, enhancement or development within the SAS Enterprise BI Environment. Is involved with determining end user requirements and implementing solutions that resolve those requirements. Assignments can span small to very large projects. Leadership skills, strong technical skills, and a respected relationship with assigned user communities are paramount in all assignments.

Primary Responsibilities:      

Conducts initial project definitions and performs appropriate systems analysis, design, project plans and cost estimates.

• Interacts directly with end users, gather requirements and converts requirements into technical design.

• Prepares all documents as required by the systems development life cycle process.

• Codes, tests and debugs programs to ensure adherence to the project schedule.

• Administrates production data warehouse environment.

• Supports production implementations

Skills/Education Required:    

• 3-5 years working within the SAS BI Enterprise 9.x platform utilizing an Oracle database and Windows server environment.

• 3-5 years of experience of BASE SAS, SAS Stored Processes, and SAS Macro development.

• 3-5 years of experience working with end-users in defining user requirements, developing and testing SAS programs.

• 1-2 years of’ experience developing SAS OLAP preferred.

• Strong of command of SQL.

• Strong of command data warehouse and database design architectures.

• Experience developing and designing ETL processes.

• Experience performing SAS BI platform administration, managing and monitoring batch job schedules.

• Prior experience / knowledge of SAP BW/BI is a plus.

• Prior experience working within a regulated industry is a plus.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.

Work Experience:     

Prior work experience developing technical specifications, code, test, and implement SAS program logic

• Prior work experience leading business client interviews to assess the specific business needs.

• Prior work experience developing project and analysis plans and presenting findings to the leadership team.

• Prior experience working within a regulated industry is a plus.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented, matrix environment.
