Data Quality Analyst
Responsibilities:
1.) Develop and document data quality goals and standards.
a. Define rules to evaluate data quality.
b. Create processes to monitor compliance with data quality rules.
c. Identify areas for data quality improvement and help resolve data quality problems.
d. Measure and report to management on the progress of data quality improvement.
2.) Work with end users of information to research reported data anomalies, identify root causes and determine remediation steps.
3.) Work with data source systems and target systems to identify data issues, data gaps, identify and recommend solutions.
4.) Maintain and develop business knowledge and customer relationships.
5.) Provide data quality training and consulting services to others in the organization.
6.) Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Informational Technology, Business or related discipline.
Experience: 5 or more years of related experience that includes experience in data quality management and/or data testing. Expert knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Access. Expert knowledge of relational databases, data manipulation tools and analysis techniques including data profiling and root cause analysis. Expertise in use of data extraction tools including SQL. Ability to understand the implications of data quality and to measure the cost and benefits of data quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with good problem solving and research skills. Ability to work independently, set priorities, multi-task and adhere to tight and changing deadlines. Willing and able to interact with data users and managers.
Scope of Job: Performs in-depth research and analysis functions, requiring superior technical, analytical and interpersonal skills under limited supervision.
