Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Performance Audit, the incumbent's accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Functionally and administratively provides general supervision to Performance Auditors and mentors the Senior Auditors and the Senior Data Analyst. Completes annual performance assessments of direct reports, while providing input to performance evaluations of staff that are mentored by the incumbent. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the adherence of the audit processes outlined within the MTM and LDLA guidelines, adherence to the audit schedules and due dates and maintenance of the appropriate documentation required by the ASU’s, and internal customers. Participates in meetings and presentations as a representative of the Auditing Department.
Assists Manager of Auditing with supervisory responsibilities in the form of skill development and training of the audit staff. Acts on behalf of the Auditing Manager in the Manager’s absence.
Performs follow-up activities related to audits, validation of reports for internal/external customers, special projects and other duties as assigned. Acts as a liaison between Auditing and the ASU’s to enhance and maintain the integrity of the MTM & LDLA reporting system and the results that are reported.
Reviews MTM Audit findings outlining the root cause of identified issues and recommendations for corrective action, system and procedural modification and enhancements to improve service and quality. Issues may include, but are not limited to: weaknesses, inconsistencies and inaccuracies in procedures, controls and system integrity.
Ensures that quality audits are maintained. Meets with Senior Auditors and staff auditors to discuss quality and any required areas that need improvement. Identifies training, skill development and cross-training needs within the department on an as needed basis. Executes the training is conducted on the audit staff as identified.
Identifies weaknesses, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in procedures, controls, and system integrity. Performs problem/trend analysis, providing recommendations for corrective action, system and procedure modification and enhancement, and improved service and quality procedures to operational management. Reviews and disseminates operational guidelines/procedures to audit staff for application in the audit process.
Assists Manager of Auditing in the development, review & adherence to the Departmental budget. Prepares monthly actual vs. budget review and identifies variances for Manager’s review.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience/Skills/Abilities
• B.S./B.A. degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in Operations (Claims, Service, Enrollment and Billing or
Operations Training) or Auditing or comparable work experience
• Minimum of two years in a leadership or supervisory role
• In-depth understanding of the MTM Direct Measures Guidelines and Reporting System as well as LDLA Guidelines established by Client.
• Working knowledge of statistics
• Strong knowledge of claims, inquiry, or enrollment processing on multiple platforms (FACETS, NASCO) and thorough knowledge of the measures (claims, inquiry, enrollment, group) within those specific platforms
• Strong understanding of ICD9 and CPT coding, medical terminology and Client’s Standard Operating Procedures preferred
• Strong PC skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and SharePoint)
• Extensive analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong knowledge of and ability to interpret data screens which may include but are not limited to: GMIR, BCIQ, BEI, IACS, CSW, HIQK, OBN, PV40 for all platforms: FACETS, NASCO
• Ability to create executive summaries and presentations for all levels of associates & management
• Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to coach, mentor and develop individuals and high functioning teams.
• Ability to build an effective team
• Ability to effectively interact with all organizational levels and be able to provide management with an understanding of the audit results
• Ability to lead problem-solving discussions and negotiate effective solutions to audit issues
