Title:  Sr. Financial Analyst- Provider Reimbursement
Location:  Columbia, MD
Duration:  Contract to Hire

Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for preparing financial analyses used in the development of the Client’s policies, strategies, and work flows associated with institutional providers’ reimbursement levels. In order to develop these recommendations, the incumbent is responsible for researching Federal, state and local reimbursement trends and competitive benchmarks. As a result of this research and extensive financial analyses, the incumbent will author reimbursement recommendations for management. These recommendations and policies govern over $7 billion in professional and institutional care payments.

This position requires a thorough understanding of national and local, physician and institutional reimbursement methodologies, as well as Client’s products and networks to develop critical cost of care impact analyses, financial reporting, and business cases to support corporate network reimbursement strategies.


Required:
*Requires an abstract thinker with a clear understanding of provider reimbursement (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-9, RBRVS, DRGs, APCs, PPCs, ASC groupers, HMOs, claims utilization data, provider networks, etc).
*Must have Medicare reimbursement experience.
*Three or more years of experience doing financial analysis/modeling in the field of health insurance or health care.
*A Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.


Preferred:
*An MBA or other graduate degree is preferred.
*In addition, a thorough understanding of national and competitive reimbursement mechanisms as well as local regulatory environments is desirable.
*Familiarity with Client’s applications such as NetworX Pricer, Facets, STARS, and Portico as well as experience with extracting and reporting hospital data from the HSCRC database is preferred.
*Experience setting and reviewing provider reimbursements.
*Clear understanding of provider reimbursement methodology.
*Ability to run queries, write data, and complete data analysis
*This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
