We have an immediate contract-to-hire need with one of our largest clients in Phoenix.  We need a Security Engineer with extensive experience in IT Security, Risk Assessments, Disaster Recovery & Regulations.  This position will go full-time and include full salary + benefits, etc.

One of CISSP/CISM/CISA is required and experience within the financial industry is highly preferred.


JOB DESCRIPTION:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: •Employ structured methodologies and analysis to properly assess the possible impacts and propose rational mitigation strategies that maintain a balance of security with business functionality and member service. •Lead the research and evaluation of security-focused technologies and processes, based on business needs and industry trends. •Compile data analysis and regulator information to present formalized and detailed findings to IT Management in support of the Information Security Program. •Lead regular risk assessments of CLIENT applications, systems and data in accordance with the Information Security Program including the examination of mitigating internal controls. Utilize RSA Archer to manage policy and compliance efforts. •Monitor current security threats and trends and evaluate the possible impact to CLIENT’s environment. Maintain up to date knowledge of industry regulations and monitor the regulatory bodies for pending legislation which will impact CLIENT. •Partner with internal and external auditors as well as federal regulators and department management with information security governance and compliance activity investigations. •Lead technical implementation efforts in support of security projects while demonstrating the ability to solve complex technical challenges. •Serve as an escalation point to other team members. Manage issues / exceptions efficiently and communicates status and resolution action plans to IT Management. •Manage vendor interactions to achieve measureable results in both operational and project settings.
  
      
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Competencies: •Experience working within a team environment. •Strong knowledge of a distributed operating environment including Windows based application and web server architectures, virtualized server infrastructures, storage area networks and LAN/WAN. •Policy and program development and adherence, reporting, implementation and improvement. •Ability to accept and provide constructive feedback. •Solid Customer Service skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical personnel. •Well organized and detail-oriented.
This position requires the ability to effectively work within established timelines. Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or five to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Certificates and/or Licenses: Must have CISSP, CISA, or CISM certification.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Outlook Contact Management systems; Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet software, Microsoft Word Processing software and Microsoft Visio.
Other skills and abilities: Demonstrated experience and knowledge in the following areas: •Securing technical platforms. •Secure server and workstation deployment and support. •IT systems/data security as it relates to financial institutions. •Regulations and best practices for technical deployments in a financial industry. •Disaster recovery/business resumption techniques. •Packet analysis and forensic tools. •Excellent analytical skills. •Demonstrated knowledge of data standards.
