BI Solutions Architect is responsible for all aspects of the Cognos 10x environment.
This includes configuration, performance planning, tuning and optimization of the Development, Testing and Production environments, development of Cognos reporting and analytics solutions and system integration via the Cognos SDK.
They are an expert solutions developer, with extensive skills in designing and implementing Reports, Dashboards and Scorecards.
They develop and manage standards used by other administrators and solution developers creating analytic solutions for projects or enhancements of existing solutions.
They leverage their knowledge of the Cognos BI framework to make recommendations on best BI Suite component(s) to use in solving a business need.
They will also participate in design and build of solutions utilizing the Cognos BI suite (Report Studio, Analysis Studio, Query Studio, Metric Studio, Business Insight, Workbench, Mobile and Software Development Kit).
They stay current on Cognos capability enhancements and proactively recommend solutions to address business needs.They oversee the efforts of other Cognos Solution Developers to insure efficient and aligned use of Framework Manager packages and consistent design of user facing outputs.

Required Skills:

• 8+ years administration experience with Cognos Business Intelligence environments
• 4+ years experience with Cognos version 8 or higher
• 6+ years proven expertise in Report Studio, Metric Studio and Analysis Studio development
• 6+ years proven experience with Framework manager design and administration
• 6+ years proven experience with Cognos Cubes and or multidimensional analysis reporting from OLAP sources such as MS Analysis Services or Oracle OLAP
• 4+ years experience with Cognos SDK (Software Development Kit), with experience imbedding Cognos analytic solutions in 3rd party software or custom applications
• 8+ years of experience in Stored Procedure and Advanced SQL query building
• 4+ years of supervisory experience managing development and system administrator resources, both permanent and contract resources
• Solid understanding of Inmon & Kimball Methodologies a related to reporting techniques
• Working knowledge of Application Servers and Web servers
• Strong Knowledge of XML and HTML
• Superior analytical and problem solving skills
• Ability to engage multiple stakeholders in seeking solutions to complicated problems
• Proven ability to work in a team or individually in dynamic environments
• Proven ability to manage multiple development demands and hit deadlines
• Understanding of SDLC methodologies, with experience in Agile SDLC environments
