Position overview:

The Audio Algorithmic Software Engineer works as part of a development team in building and enhancing the audio technology components of our client’s videoconferencing products.

Compensation:  Very competitive base salary ($100K+), based on prior earnings and experience, plus bonus, stock options and excellent benefits, including fully paid health insurance

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate as part of a software engineering team in the development, enhancement and implementation of high-quality and technically innovative audio components within the overall videoconferencing product line
• Design and develop audio algorithms, with a focus on echo cancellation, voice activity detection, noise suppression and related functions and features
• Work with other software engineers and quality assurance staff to integrate and test audio functions and features into the overall technical architecture of the products
• Understand customer requirements, based on input from sales, marketing and product development, in order to continually improve product offerings

Requirements:

• 5+ years of audio algorithmic software engineering experience
• Thorough hands-on knowledge of audio processing technology, including audio DSP algorithms (e.g., echo cancellation, voice activity detection, noise suppression, etc.)
• In-depth understanding of packet audio communications systems, including microphones, speakers, codecs, transmission and reception
• Experience in testing and integration of audio components into comprehensive videoconferencing systems
• Good understanding of and ability to contribute to product development process
• Strong C/C++ skills
• Experience with Matlab or Adobe Audition a plus

Education:            BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field
