Security Software Support Engineer

Linux or Unix

(Virtual office-prefer east coast)

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Engineer for a leading support position to join their growing U.S. team.   Your main responsibilities will be supporting customers via email, phone and webcasts. You will also guide customers and SEs in product installation, daily operations and troubleshooting.

Compensation: $80-100K - depending on previous experience and compensation.  Plus benefits,

 Including 401k, medical and dental benefits.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support customers via email, phone and through webcasts
• Guide customers and support engineers in product installation
• Responsible for daily operations, troubleshooting, maintaining and updating product base
• Introduce support methodologies and tools to benefit the client and team.
• Work with the international headquarters based support center

Requirements:

• 4 plus years previous experience in similar position, in a software company.
• Working user level knowledge of Linux or UNIX environments.
• Experience in firewall administration/configuration (Checkpoint, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, etc.).
• Experience in support of network security software products.
• Experience in support of networking environments.
• Experience in Linux script languages (PERL, shell) – advantage.
• Willingness to work at irregular hours, to support our customers’ world-wide.
• Must be independent, self-sufficient, reliable and capable of self-learning.
• Excellent written skills, verbal skills, problem-solver, results oriented, fast learner, and organized.
• Ability and willingness to work alone with no local management support is A MUST.

Education:          B.S in Engineering, Computer Science or Equivalent work experience.

Location:             virtual (east coast or west coast)

Travel:                 15% travel, some international
