A nationwide, publicly-traded company leveraging the latest Microsoft technologies is adding a Configuration Manager to its team. The Config Manager must be an expert with Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS). This individual will provide Configuration Management (CM) support for software baseline control efforts, and maintains the baseline using automated CM tools.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in producing company line of products
- Maintain project software and documentation inventory and configuration baselines
- Establish and/or maintain the CM processes and procedures
- Define and/or implement procedures for releasing products throughout the whole product lifecycle
- Produce builds of products for use in testing and in production
- Identify and implement processes to strengthen, streamline and automate build processes
- Serve as an advocate for best practices
- Drive the development and maintenance of build automation tools
- Maintain the source code change control; perform distribution partner and corporate client set-ups
- Perform software deficiency and change request updates and reporting. Maintains the project notebook library and software development folders
- Tracks and maintains the project change requests, impact assessments, incident reports, and software change notices on a continuous basis
- Measure and report on success metrics, benchmarking performance against world class measures
- Supports management with technical performance data from the CM process
- Implement critical piece of software on any important architecture, e.g., reusable proof-of-concept
- Implement the company’s product development methodology in the development environment to ensure an iterative process is followed
- Deliver within an aggressive timetable
Skills and Requirements:
- Expert level knowledge and experience utilizing Microsoft Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Team System as a tool for Application Lifecycle Management
- Experienced using team collaboration tools/source control programs, preferably Team Foundation Server w/Visual Source Safe
- Experience with a relational database, preferably SQL Server 2008/2005/2000
- Must have experience with implementing and utilizing iterative product development methodologies. The following methodologies will be considered: RUP, SCRUM, Agile, or other iterative processes
- Good understanding of Service Oriented Architecture
- Experience with WCF, WPF, and WWF Microsoft technologies preferred
- Excellent experience of using IDE like Visual Studio .NET (2003/2005/2008/2010)
- Familiar with the structure and operation of Microsoft Internet Information Server (6.0 and higher), Windows 2003 Application Server, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, etc.
- Display a high degree of inquisitiveness and an eagerness to learn at a detailed and abstract level
- Highly self-motivated with a strong business sense to capture and fulfill the business requirements for all products and articulate in an architecture model.
- Communication: Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills; also has to be good team player
- .NET (2.0/3.0/3.5/4.0) technology, including (not limited to) ASP.NET, C#/VB.NET, ADO.NET, Web Service; experience of using similar technologies (mainly in J2SE/J2EE) will be considered too
