Job Title :Tivoli Monitoring Engineer / NOC Supervisor

This position reports to the Operations Director. The Tivoli Monitoring Engineer will be a senior technical resource for the company’s monitoring applications. A secondary responsibility will be to coordinate monitoring implementations with the NOC / Service Desk. Responsibilities include: - Provide daily monitoring of critical applications on Linux and Windows platforms.
- Analyze performance and monitoring reports to identify potential issues.
- Supervise current NOC / Service Desk staff.
- Provide subject matter expertise in IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager; identify and resolve issues, apply fixes and upgrades
- Collaborate with business and IT teams to identify, review and implementing monitoring requirements.
- Create and maintain monitoring infrastructure documentation, policies, and procedures.
- Provide mentoring for NOC staff.
- Develop an end-to-end monitoring solution that encompass the business, application, middleware, servers, network, databases and storage.
- This solution will be both proactive and reactive components of enterprise monitoring.
- The candidate will develop cross-platform enterprise event architecture and develop rules, alerts and notifications.
- Develop a dashboard or distributed search to identify and troubleshoot the problems quickly.
- Implement these goals using the existing runtime agents and products such as Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Suite.
- Evaluate new or existing products to provide end to end monitoring solution.

- Bachelors preferred.
- 3 years experience with Enterprise Monitoring solutions.
- 2 years experience with IBM Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Suite
- Must have technical knowledge of both hardware and software
- Open source monitoring solutions
- Knowledge of Relational Databases (Oracle, Sybase, and IBM DB2 / UDB)
- Strong knowledge of UNIX and/or Windows Operating Systems
- Develop shell and Perl scripting solution to address information gathering
