Our Client is an industry leader developing; Optical Transceivers, Passive Optical Network Subsystems, Electronic Devices, and various components related to Fiber & Optical Communications Products. 

This position is responsible for the design and development of embedded system device driver and protocol software in a state-of-art optical access network. We’re looking for a C/C++ software engineer with hands-on experience in real-time embedded software development of switch/router functionality. Experience in device drivers, control plane software, and data/forwarding plane firmware is essential. Experience in Passive Optical Networking (PON) is desired, but not required.

 

Candidate will perform the following duties:

• Analysis of customer requirements

• High level and detailed software design that reflect requirements

• Software Implementation

• Integration Test

• Troubleshooting Field Issues

 

Candidate must have the following skills:

• Experience with Real-time Software Architectures

• Experience with VxWorks, Device Drivers, Board Support Packages

• Experience with Languages: C, C++

• Experience in Software Development Methodology

• Education: MS Computer Science or Electrical Engineering

• Experience: 6-8 years relevant experience

 

The following skills are desired:

• Experience with Software Lifecycle tools: Rational Suite

• Experience with Gigabit/10G Switching fabrics

• Experience with Passive Optical Networks (PON)
