Bid Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- To successfully manage the process of delivering proposals to customers
- To lead the bid team, coordinating all bid activity including setting up kick-off and bid progress calls or meetings, coordinating completion of Statements of Work for non-standard service elements and ensuring appropriate contractual documentation is in place for successful sales.
- To co-ordinate sales strategy, bid approval and formal document production for Simple Bids.
- To create financial models using standard tools, based on forecast information, and provide margin analysis information to assist with the sign-off process.
- To co-ordinate all resources as necessary to support proposal production.
Key responsibilities including:
- Meet the client's requirement by utilizing the full breadth of our telecom carrier class mobile broadband technology products and services to produce a quality, winning proposals
- Pro-actively manage all bids giving a swift turn round when necessary, managing the bid from opportunity, to tender submission and through to contract signature and showing bid management leadership where required
- Qualify and assist in improving the win chances for bids
- Liaison with relevant management in Sales, Finance, Commercial and Implementation to ensure that the bid sign-off procedures are adhered to using a planned process.
- To ensure appropriate communication of bid objectives and bid progress to senior managers, in order to assist in their decision-making and personal commitment to the bids.
- Liaison with customers and suppliers where appropriate, and sales teams
- Provide advice and guidance to the Sales Teams for all aspects of the bidding cycle and to recognize where regulatory or legal advice is required, specifically for Global Bids etc. and to liaise with CL&R to resolve issues arising.
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of carrier class mobile broadband technology systems, and processes
- Wireless telecom networks, 3GPP Specs., Mobile Packet Core and IP Protocols, GSM/UMTS
- Bid Response experience within a Network Equipment Manufacturer
- Strong interpersonal skills with a capacity to develop into Senior Bid Manager
- Methodology skills deploying project management principles, and an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office – especially Microsoft Excel – Financial Modeling tool, Microsoft PowerPoint – preparation of bid approval requests, and Microsoft Word – proposal development
